FAQ

If you have any questions, problems or feedback, please let us know.

What does this app do?
This app helps you download and use Dashkit SQLite extensions to explore remote data and extract it into a local SQLite file.
Why should I use this app?
The app keeps your data, credentials, and logs on your Mac, giving you control over your privacy and running costs. It also makes it easy to query and explore your data with a user-friendly interface.
Where do I find a redeem code?
Download a supported extension from the product page, and use your order number as the code in the "Redeem Code" field.
How are my credentials stored?
All credentials are securely saved in the app's SQLite database using AES-GCM encryption. Your password is stored as a one-way hash with the Argon2 algorithm for extra security.
What is Dashkit Vault?

Dashkit Vault is our secure authentication and credential service.

When OAuth credentials are needed, Dashkit Vault gives you the option to authenticate using our verified clients. In turn, we give you a time‑limited JWT token.

When used with one of our SQLite extensions, the JWT token is exchanged for a fresh access token for the source API, allowing you to keep querying it directly.

Can I use other SQLite extensions?
No, the app only supports Dashkit extensions. Most open-source extensions aren’t signed or notarized by Apple, which could compromise security and require manual exceptions to run.
Can I get this for Linux/Windows?
Not yet. We’re currently focused on optimizing the app for Mac.
